City Executive Centres

City Executive Centres offer flexible serviced office space in fifteen city locations across the United Kingdom. The company offers customers a range of products from fully serviced and furnished office space to virtual offices for companies requiring a city presence. As part of its serviced product, customers occupy cabled offices with managed internet & telecoms services. City Executive Centres use leading ISP and telecommunications company, Spitfire Digital Networks Ltd, to specify, install and support their day-to-day communications requirements. Connected Business Solutions is their preferred cabling installation partner and have been assisting Spitfire with many of the City Executive Centres projects around the United Kingdom.

Watsons Chambers - Sheffield.
City Executive Centres required a new cabling system across six floors to deliver managed voice and data services to its customers. Spitfire employed the services of Connected Business Solutions to design and install a distributed cabling system to span from the Basement up to the Sixth floor. This project required care and attention as all works were carried out whilst offices were occupied and disruption to tenants business had to be kept to a minimum. A total of 560x Category 5e UTP outlets were installed throughout the building from a core cabinet in the basement to three remote cabinets on the 1st, 3rd and 5th floors. The cabinets were linked vertically to deliver internet connectivity and telephone system extensions. To provide a route for the links, a new riser was created by diamond drilling holes between all floors. These works were successfully completed in a six week programme.

London Wall - The City of London.
To facilitate the installation of a new phone system to a traditional CW1308 telephone cabling system, Spitfire enlisted the help of Connected Business Solutions to prepare approximately 350x outlet sockets for the installation of the new system. As the phone system delivered extensions as RJ45 ports, it was proposed to identify, label and present every telephone socket as RJ45 patch panel ports in the comms room so that extensions could be patched using RJ45 patch leads. To achieve this, Connected Business Solutions' engineers worked around tenant's schedules to keep disruption to a minimum and provided clearly labelled & tested sockets to RJ45 patch panels within the new cabinets to enable the installation to be installed quicker. These works were completed and successfully cut over in a three week programme.

Piccadilly - West End, London.
City Executive Centres comms required moving from the Basement to a new Ground floor location after the centre let out the Basement space to a new tenant. The original computer room housed approximately 450x Category 5e UTP's feeding multiple floors and all external communications lines for the phone system and internet connectivity. Spitfire & Connected Business Solutions assisted with planning and the relocation of all services to a new comms room during the centres quietest period, between Christmas and New Years. New Chatsworth racks were pre-installed with improved connectivity between management terminals and a server rack for customers supplied servers. All cabling was successfully relocated to the new comms room, terminated to new patch panels and re-commissioned within a two week programme.
